After reportedly being in the process of acquiring BitTorrent.inc, the operator of uTorrent, TRON’s founder has now announced a generous airdrop of 30m TRX for Ethereum Community which has now confirmed TRON’s move to its MainNet-Odyssey 2.0. It is the part of transitioning away from the Ethereum (ETH) Blockchain, which currently underpins the cryptocurrency’s network.
Ethereum network has some challenges and limitations that TRON aims to rectify. The new technology has come up at a point when there is already intense rivalry between Justin sun and Vitalik Buterin. Justin Sun, the founder of TRON, has recently claimed that TRON is way much better than Ethereum, but on the other hand, Vitalik Buterin feels that TRON does not have any creativity and is just an idea that is copied from Ethereum.
Altcoin TRON (TRX) launched a beta version of its independent public Blockchain on May 31. TRON is currently the tenth largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization. The full launch of the network’s Genesis block is set to take place on June 25, styled ‘Independence Day’ by the TRON foundation. The move to an independent network will test TRON’s claims as a competitor to Ethereum in providing a basic-layer public Blockchain platform that supports decentralized application (dApp) development. The new Java-based MainNet uses a Proof-of-Stake (PoS) consensus algorithm. TRON’s developers claim that their network is “400 times faster” than Ethereum’s as per the internal tests.
About TRX’s current value, the news regarding the airdrop didn’t change the recovery of TRX market price much. There is recovery, but the recovery is quite slow.
